When Marquis first reached out, he had one heartfelt mission in mind: to propose to the love of his life, Bianca, during their travels through Peru. He wanted something unforgettable, something that would reflect both their connection and the stunning beauty of the Andes. From there, we began crafting a story around the perfect location for this life-changing moment.
Together, we chose Maras, a breathtaking region perched above the Sacred Valley, known for its panoramic views of the Andes Mountains. The chosen setting, Mountain View Experience, one of the region’s gems, offers stunning vistas, the opportunity to interact with a large family of friendly llamas and alpacas, and a taste of refined Andean cuisine paired with artisanal cocktails.
Bianca had no idea what was in store.
We started the afternoon experience with a private Andean sound healing session — a perfect way for the couple to relax and connect before the big moment, especially for Marquis, who was understandably nervous.
The private sound bath space was intimate and magical, layered with handwoven mantas, glowing candlelight, and locally grown fresh flowers. The sound healing session was deeply connected to the Andean worldview and the energy of Pachamama (Mother Earth), honoring her presence as part of the healing journey, using ancestral instruments like the zampoña (pan flute), rattles, bells, and condor feather flute. Our sound healing expert, Isaias, guided the couple on a journey through the sounds of the Andes, introducing them to the melodies of traditional Andean instruments and other ceremonial elements that deepened the experience, promoting harmony, emotional release, and inner peace.
Little did Bianca know that when she rose from the healing session, a whole new scene awaited her. Behind the curtain, a private dining space had been set inside a beautifully adorned teepee, twinkling with fairy lights and scented with the fresh eucalyptus that trailed around the teepee frame. The low seating area was layered with soft sheepskin carpets, cozy floor cushions, and a personal fire stove casting a warm ambient glow throughout the space.
This was the moment Marquis had been waiting for. With the majestic Andes as their backdrop, he dropped to one knee and asked Bianca to be his forever. She was thrilled, surprised, and overflowing with joy. And of course, she said yes!
Before dinner, the newly engaged couple enjoyed a mini engagement photoshoot with snow-capped Mount Chicon in the background, a forever memory of their mountain engagement in Peru, captured by our expert team photographer.
They toasted with sparkling wine and savored a three-course romantic dinner by the fire, indulging in ancestral Andean flavors prepared with modern elegance.
