She Thought It Was Just a Llama Walk…
When Andrew contacted us about planning a surprise marriage proposal for Lexis during their trip to Peru, he wanted something personal, adventurous, and completely unexpected.
Not a traditional restaurant proposal or a crowded tourist location, but a beautiful experience surrounded by the extraordinary landscapes of the Sacred Valley.
And there was one important detail. Lexis couldn't suspect a thing.
Together, we planned an experience that would begin with what she thought was a relaxed llama walk in the Andes and end with a surprise proposal, an engagement photoshoot, and a romantic private dinner.
A Llama Walk with a Very Special Surprise
The Sacred Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Peru, with sweeping mountain landscapes, traditional villages and incredible views of the Andes.
For Andrew and Lexis, we chose a location in the highlands where they could enjoy the scenery and spend time among the alpacas, without Lexis knowing what was waiting just ahead.
As they made their way through the landscape, surrounded by curious alpacas and dramatic mountain views, everything appeared to be going according to the original plan.
But hidden nearby was something rather special.
A Romantic Floral Proposal Beneath the Andes
We had designed a circular floral arch positioned against the spectacular mountain backdrop, creating an intimate setting for Andrew to ask Lexis one of the most important questions of their lives.
The changing skies added an extraordinary atmosphere. Dark clouds gathered over the mountains while pockets of sunlight moved across the valley.
And when Andrew got down on one knee, the moment was absolutely beautiful.
Lexis said yes!
A Surprise Proposal in Peru, Unlike Anything You've Seen Before
The joy, excitement, and emotion of the moment were captured on film, giving Andrew and Lexis something they can return to for years to come.
Engagement Photography with Vintage Cars and Mountain Views
After the proposal, there was no need to rush.
We had planned time for Andrew and Lexis to enjoy their first moments as an engaged couple while Keko captured a beautiful collection of engagement photographs.
The experience took us through different settings across the mountain landscape, including portraits beside vintage vehicles, among the alpacas, and in fields of yellow wildflowers.
The vintage cars brought a nostalgic, editorial feel to the photographs, contrasting beautifully with the rugged Andean scenery.
As the light changed across the mountains, the couple explored the landscape together, laughing, embracing, and enjoying the excitement of their engagement.
Some of our favourite photographs are the simplest ones. A quiet moment together, a beautiful mountain backdrop, or the newly engaged couple taking in everything that had just happened.
A Romantic Private Dinner to End the Day
After their mountain adventure and engagement photoshoot, the celebrations continued with a romantic private dinner.
A beautifully arranged table, warm lighting, and the glow of the fire created a cosy atmosphere where Andrew and Lexis could relax together and enjoy the evening.
It was a lovely way to end such an extraordinary day.
